Podiatry Under the Support at Home Program — Accepting Referrals

Tooronga Podiatry is a registered allied health provider under the Australian Government’s Support at Home program, delivering professional podiatry services to older Australians in their home and community.

We work directly with aged care providers, support coordinators, and case managers across Melbourne to deliver high-quality, flexible podiatry as part of each client’s care plan. Whether your client needs routine nail and skin care, wound management, orthotic prescription, or a full foot health assessment, our experienced podiatrists are ready to support your team.

Podiatry is classified as clinical care under Support at Home — meaning it is 100% government funded with no co-contribution required from the participant, regardless of their income or assets.

What is support at home?

The Support at Home program replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. It is an Australian Government initiative that funds older Australians to receive a range of care and support services in their own home, helping them live independently for longer.

Clients are assigned one of eight funding classification levels, with annual budgets to manage their clinical and home needs. Services are funded quarterly and managed through a registered aged care provider.

Allied health services — including podiatry — sit within the Clinical Care category. This means podiatry is fully subsidised by the government, making it accessible to all eligible participants without out-of-pocket cost.

Restorative Care and Allied Health Under Support at Home

Tooronga Podiatry is well-positioned to support clients on the Restorative Care Pathway — a short-term, intensive allied health program funded under Support at Home.

This pathway is designed to help older Australians improve their functional capacity, regain independence, and reduce the risk of falls and hospitalisation. Podiatry plays a key role in:

✔ Assessing and reducing fall risk

✔ Managing painful foot conditions that limit mobility

✔ Prescribing custom orthotics and footwear modifications

✔ Supporting diabetes-related foot care

✔ Wound assessment and management

If your client has been assessed as suitable for the Restorative Care Pathway, contact us to discuss how we can form part of their allied health team.
